Section VI – First Aid Data and Health Hazards
INGESTION: Minor.
Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow. Do not induce vomiting. Do not give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. |
EYES: Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently
with water for 15-20 minutes. Seek
medical attention. |
INHALLATION: Minor
irritation. Remove victim to fresh
air. If breathing has stopped, call
911 or have a trained person perform artificial respiration. Seek medical care. |
SKIN: Remove contaminated clothing. Rinse skin with water for 15-20
minutes. If irritation persists seek
medical attention. |
Effects
of acute exposure: Minor irritation can occur from liquid mist or vapour
contacting respiratory tract, eyes, and skin.
Ingestion of large amounts will cause diarrhea. Aspiration can damage lungs and cause
death. |
Effects
of chronic exposure: Prolonged or repeated exposure can defat
skin and lead to dermatitis. May cause
allergic skin response in some persons.
Intense long-term exposure may cause kidney problems. |
Carcinogenicity: Not reported by OSHA, IARC, NTP, ACGIH |
Teratogenicity: N/av. |
Reproductive toxicity: N/av. |
Sensitization: D-limonene is a sensitizer. |
Section VII -
Precautions for Safe Handling, Use, and Control Measures
Gloves: neoprene, nitrile, butyl rubber, or polyvinyl alcohol are recommended. |
Eye Protection: Chemical safety goggles or face shield is recommended. |
Respirator: No respiratory protection required under
normal use conditions. Consider the
use of respirator in confined spaces or elevated temperatures. |
Clothing: Apron, Coveralls, or other suitable
protective clothing. |
Footwear: Impervious boots using same materials as for gloves. |
Other: Emergency eyewash or shower should be available. |
Leak and spill procedures: Soak up small spills with absorbent materials. Prevent run-off from reaching sewers, storm drains, or natural water bodies. No reportable quantity according to 40 CFR 302 |
Waste Disposal: Dispose of according to federal, state, and local laws. |
Precautions to Be taken in Handling and Storing: Avoid generating mists. Keep containers closed when not in use. Do not freeze. Store in cool , well ventilated area away from incompatible materials and ignition sources. |
Other Precautions: None |
