Section VI – First Aid Data and Health Hazards

INGESTION:  Minor.  Have person sip a glass of water if able to swallow.  Do not induce vomiting.  Do not give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

EYES:  Hold eye open and rinse slowly and gently with water for 15-20 minutes.  Seek medical attention.

INHALLATION: Minor irritation.  Remove victim to fresh air.  If breathing has stopped, call 911 or have a trained person perform artificial respiration.  Seek medical care.

SKIN:  Remove contaminated clothing.  Rinse skin with water for 15-20 minutes.  If irritation persists seek medical attention.

Effects of acute exposure:  Minor irritation can occur from liquid mist or vapour contacting respiratory tract, eyes, and skin.  Ingestion of large amounts will cause diarrhea.  Aspiration can damage lungs and cause death.

Effects of chronic exposure:  Prolonged or repeated exposure can defat skin and lead to dermatitis.  May cause allergic skin response in some persons.  Intense long-term exposure may cause kidney problems.

Section VII - Precautions for Safe Handling, Use, and Control Measures

Gloves:  neoprene, nitrile, butyl rubber, or polyvinyl alcohol are recommended.

Eye Protection:  Chemical safety goggles or face shield is recommended.

Respirator:  No respiratory protection required under normal use conditions.  Consider the use of respirator in confined spaces or elevated temperatures.

Clothing:  Apron, Coveralls, or other suitable protective clothing.

Footwear:  Impervious boots using same materials as for gloves.

Other:  Emergency eyewash or shower should be available.

Leak and spill procedures:  Soak up small spills with absorbent materials.  Prevent run-off from reaching sewers, storm drains, or natural water bodies.  No  reportable quantity according to 40 CFR 302

Waste Disposal:  Dispose of according to federal, state, and local laws.

Precautions to Be taken in Handling and Storing:  Avoid generating mists.  Keep containers closed when not in use.  Do not freeze.  Store in cool , well ventilated area away from incompatible materials and ignition sources.
